Three inseparable teen friends were killed in a multiple-vehicle crash in Glassboro, New Jersey that led to a horror pile-up along a state highway over the weekend.

Brenden Cary and Dominic Reyes, both 19 from the town of Franklinville, as well as a 17-year-old, died when their Honda collided with another vehicle before hitting a Dodge minivan that was disabled on the shoulder of Route 55.

Cary and Reyes were both killed in the crash just after 4:15 p.m. Sunday, while a 17-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries and later died at the hospital, officials said.

Cary, Reyes, and the 17-year-old were all good pals and hung out together outside of school, according to Reyes’ legal guardian, Laura Perez.

“They were always together, working on their cars, going to the car wash and car meets, playing video games or just hanging out,” Perez told NJ Advance Media. “It’s an immense loss that I’m not sure we will ever fully recover from.”

Perez expressed her prayers for the survivors of the crash in the minivan.

“I’m praying for the people in the other car hoping everyone was OK. I’m so sorry to them,” she said.

A 36-year-old woman inside the disabled Dodge minivan suffered serious injuries while three children who were inside the vehicle at the time suffered minor injuries.

Cary was a student at Delsea Regional High School while Reyes was a recent graduate, according to a statement from the school district’s superintendent, Fran Cioiola.

“It is with a heavy heart, I write to share the devastating news of a tragic car accident that took the lives of one of our current students, Brenden Cary, and a recent Delsea graduate,” Ciociola wrote in a statement seen by NBC 10.

“Our school family is heartbroken, and our thoughts are with their families, friends, and all who knew and loved them. We also recognize that this accident has impacted families beyond our school community, and our hearts go out to everyone affected. In moments like these, we are reminded of the importance of coming together in support, love, and compassion.”
