The NYPD is investigating a double shooting Monday night in Brooklyn that left one man dead and another suffering a gunshot wound to the eye.

Police received 911 calls just after 10 p.m. about shots fired. Officers arrived at 1233 Putnam Ave., a residential tree-lined street in Bushwick, where they discovered the two gunshot victims outside.

One victim, a 39-year-old man, was shot in the abdomen. The other, a 63-year-old man, was shot in the eye, cops said.

Paramedics rushed both victims to Brookdale Hospital, where the younger victim was pronounced dead at 10:47 p.m., according to NYPD officials.

The 63-year-old was listed in stable condition.

The names of the victims are being withheld pending family notification, according to police.

Investigators recovered ballistics at the scene, but said it was too early to determine whether or not the victims were targeted or innocent bystanders, sources said.

No witnesses have come forward as of early Tuesday morning and the fatal shooting remains under investigation, police said.

The latest gun violence marks the eighth and ninth shooting victims and the seventh shooting incident so far in the 83rd Precinct this year, according to NYPD data.

The number is significantly up from the same period last year, when there were just two shooting victims and two shooting incidents in the precinct through June 1.
