A twisted teaching assistant at a Brooklyn junior high school flashed photos of her private parts to three teen girls — and showed them a raunchy sex video of herself, the Special Commissioner for Investigation for NYC schools found.
Paraprofessional Amber Barnes’ revolting conduct happened during a “Girls Empowerment Movement” meeting in November 2022 at JHS 218 in East New York — and only came to light because Barnes’ son, a seventh-grader at the school, was caught showing snaps of the masturbating woman to other boys in a locker room, according to the SCI report obtained by The Post.
When the boys in the locker room reported his behavior to school officials, one of the girls who had seen the mom’s X-rated images was present and blurted out, “Like mother, like son.”
That led school officials to dig deeper into Barnes, 41, and alleged her misbehavior with the three girls, the report said.
The girls recalled that while “body dysmorphia” was being discussed during a GEM meeting, Barnes assured the group it’s normal for females to have one breast larger than the other — and then flashed her bare bosom pics as proof, according to the SCI report.
The girls vividly recalled to investigators that Barnes’ nipples were pierced and that there was a “greenish” tattoo on one of them in the shape of a “star or a diamond,” said the report.
During the GEM meeting, one of the students told Barnes she once cut class and went home to have sex with another student – and that the act was taped and shared with other students.
Barnes then told the girl “not to be embarrassed” because she, too, had her own sex tape, which she then shockingly shared with the trio, according to the report.
During the probe, two school staffers told investigators Barnes showed the same pics and video to them.
Barnes, who was assigned to the school in 2014, denied displaying the nudie pics or a sex video to students. She claimed she was ratted out by the three girls as payback for catching them “high on edibles.”
Barnes’ “conduct was unprofessional, improper and egregious,” said the Feb. 3 SCI report which recommended her firing. “As such, she has no place working in and around students.”
Barnes in March 2023 was suspended without pay from the $50,000-a-year post pending the SCI probe, and no longer works for NYC’s public school system, officials said.
She was also arrested and charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. However, the criminal case was “dismissed and sealed on speedy trial grounds,” the SCI said.
“Student safety is non-negotiable at NYC Public Schools, said Chyann Tull, a spokesperson for the city’s Department of Education.
Barnes did not respond to messages.
