AOC doesn’t deny 2028 White House ambitions when asked at Munich Security Conference

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) laughed off ribbing by a panel moderator at the Munich Security Conference on Friday about a possible bid for the White House in 2028.

“When you run for president, are you going to impose a wealth tax or a billionaire’s tax?” the moderator asked in her first question to the congresswoman during a panel discussing “the rise of populism.”

Ocasio-Cortez responded with a short laugh, but did not deny her ambitions.

“I don’t think that anyone — that we don’t have to wait for any one president to impose a wealth tax,” she said. “That needs to be done expeditiously.”
