Bad news for Coachella fans as one act scheduled for the upcoming music festival had to cancel their appearance due to the guitarist suffering an “acute brain injury.”
In a post on the rock band’s Instagram on Wednesday, the band, Lambrini Girls, wrote that they would not be performing on Saturday at the desert festival because the guitarist Phoebe Lunny had “fractured” her neck and more.
“We have to pull out of Coachella and reschedule our whole American headline tour. Long story short, I fractured my neck and I have an acute brain injury,” the post read.
The message went on to explain that the accident happened in Australia, but she was misdiagnosed and got treatment late for it.
“Doctors orders are I can’t fly or perform for six weeks,” the message added.
The announcement said all headline tour dates were being rescheduled but performances for late May in the United Kingdom and Europe were still supposed to take place.
The band noted that it had already received tons of messages from people after they were forced to cancel this weekend’s show in Coachella.
“We are so gutted guys. We want to be there so badly,” the post read. “If it was a broken leg I would do a Dave Grohl and play it.”
“This isn’t something we are taking lightly and we are really sad. We hope and pray there’s some universe we get to play there next year instead.”
It added, “But because it is my neck and brain our hands are tied for now, but I’m lucky and expect a speedy recovery thank f**k lol.”
The message was signed by the guitarist, thanking everyone for always showing up for them.
Reading through the comments under the post about the bad news, many people threw support to Phoebe and the band hoping she feels better soon.
“It’s punk af to rest, hope you have a quick recovery,” one person wrote.
Another added, “The new album will hold us over while you recover.
The group’s debut LP “Who let the Dogs Out” came out in 2025, per SF Gate.
Cancellations happen and last minute additions are common for the entertainment lineups of the popular days long music festival in southern California.
Following news of the punk band being out, reports surfaced that the legendary rocker Jack White had been added to entertain concert goers this weekend.
“Coachella 2015 headliner Jack White returns to the desert as this year’s Surprise Set. Catch Jack White live at the Mojave Tent this Saturday, April 11 at 3pm, or tune into the livestream at Coachella.com, a post on his Instagram account read.
And judging by the comments about the upcoming show, people couldn’t be more thrilled to see him rock the place.
