A naked man wielding a gun was taken down by police officers following his screaming rampage through a Bay Area Tesla repair shop.

The Berkeley Police Department said officers responded to the Tesla service center located at 901 Gilman street after getting numerous 911 calls about the suspect running through the street carrying something in his hand and smashing windows.

While enroute officers were notified that he had stormed into a Tesla repair shop while carrying a shotgun.

Police then set up a perimeter at the service center and were ready for the man who eventually busted out of the building screaming and carrying the gun while not wearing a stitch of clothing, KRON 4 reported.

Berkeley PD said they called for him to stop but the naked man continued to charge towards the police officers.

Once the man got close enough, some of the officers were able to tackle him and wrestle the gun from his hand. He was then handcuffed and taken away by police.

Police later obtained a search warrant for his property nearby where they said they found evidence that the gun had reportedly been used inside numerous times.

“We are thankful that no one was injured and we are grateful for all the people who called to report the suspect’s location so that officers could quickly take the man into custody,” the BPD told the outlet.

The naked man has since been identified as Edward Teece, 35. According to a bio, Teece’s hometown is listed as Berkeley, CA, per the Berkeley Scanner.

He previously attended a private high school in Massachusetts before joining the rowing crew at Yale from 2009-2010, per the report.

Teece was arrested on a variety of charges including, suspicion of assault with a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in public, and willfully discharging a firearm in a negligent manner.

He was being held at Santa Rita jail and his bail was listed as $175,000 as of Tuesday, per the report.

As of Wednesday, the Alameda County District Attorney’s office charged Teece with w/discharge of firearm w/gross negligence, assault w/firearm & resisting exec officer, per a KTVU’s reporter’s post on X.
