An 18-year-old woman was shot in the chest on a New York City subway platform late Sunday by a masked man who tried to snatch her purse, according to police.
The teenager was waiting on the platform at the President Street-Medgar Evers College Station in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, when the armed man opened fire while trying to rob her around 11:45 p.m., police said.
She suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was rushed by police officers to Kings County Hospital, where she is recovering in stable condition, cops said.
Police later tracked the woman’s bag from a phone ping at Pacific Street and Utica Avenue, about 1.5 miles from the subway station where she was shot, sources told The Post.
The brute fled up the stairs and onto the street and was last seen wearing all black, a red hat, and a black face mask, according to police.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
