The Democrat candidate running for Nassau County executive slammed Republican incumbent Bruce Blakeman for backing President Trump’s global tariffs, which have triggered a massive drop in the stock market.

Challenger Seth Koslow noted that Blakeman appeared at Trump’s press conference on his tariff rollout in DC last week

The levies, Koslow said, even target American ally Israel.

“It’s disgusting that Bruce Blakeman stood there clapping as President Trump slapped an arbitrary tariff on Israel. What a phony. If he had any courage or conviction whatsoever, he’d stand with our most important ally, Israel, and tell President Trump to back off his price-hiking insanity,” the Nassau County legislator told The Post.

“This isn’t about left or right or Republican, Democrat. It’s about 401(k)s. Bruce Blakeman was at the White House cheering on these tariffs. Why isn’t Bruce Blakeman protecting us?”

But Blakeman dismissed the criticism and defended Trump’s tariffs to spur job creation.

“I continue to stand with organized labor and the working men and women of Nassau County in supporting job creation and economic security here in America,” Blakeman said Sunday.

“While we all share concerns about the stock market, we will be a stronger and better America if more jobs are held by Americans and more goods are manufactured here.”

Stock futures dropped dramatically Sunday evening with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 2.1% and the S&P 500 plummeting about 2.5% while the Nasdaq fell almost 3.1%.

The general election for the county seat will be held on November 4.
