A cold front will usher in bone-chilling temperatures and a possible wintry mix of rain and snow in New York City on Thursday, according to forecasters.
Temperatures will hover around a mild 39 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday night, with a possibility of drizzles before the mercury plunges, sending a chill through the Big Apple Thursday night, AccuWeather Meteorologist Scott Homan told The Post.
“As we head into tomorrow, that rain moves away, we get a mix of clouds and sun, it’ll be breezy, it’ll be cooler out than it was today, and we could see a rain or snow shower,” Homan said.
No accumulation is expected from the wintry mix, as high temperatures on Thursday remain above freezing, around 42 degrees Fahrenheit.
Thursday night, however, could be “the coldest night of the season,” as temperatures plummet below freezing.
“Things get a lot colder, lows get down to around 24 degrees, pretty much the coldest night of the season so far as we head into tomorrow night,” Homan said.
Temperatures will remain chilly into Friday, with a break of sunshine and a high of 35 degrees Fahrenheit.
“It’s just a cold day on Friday with some sunshine and a high of around 35, so not a lot of winter precipitation, but temperatures will be on the cold side,” Homan said.
