Cold-blooded killer Bryan Kohberger gave one of his lawyers an eerie black heart picture just moments after he was jailed for life over the murders of four University of Idaho students.
The convicted murderer, 30, had the drawing placed in front of him on the defense table during his high-profile sentencing hearing in Boise, Idaho, on Wednesday.
He never glanced down at the etching — or even moved it — as he listened to his victims’ loved ones deliver their crushing impact statements for hours.
Immediately after the hearing ended though, one of Kohberger’s attorneys was spotted scooping up the piece of paper, NBC News reported.
The lawyer appeared to ask the killer about it before smiling and taking the sketch with her. The back of the paper had a handwritten note.
It wasn’t immediately clear what the two said to each other.
When asked about the drawing following the sentencing, Prosecutor Bill Thompson said it was the “first I’ve heard of it.”
Kohberger, who took a last-minute plea deal that spared him the death penalty, declined to speak before he was eventually sentenced to life in prison for butchering Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen and Ethan Chapin in their off-campus home in 2022.
