A Florida elementary school teacher was placed on leave this week after newly released bodycam footage revealed her “deplorable” behavior while attending an out-of-control January house party, where she cursed out cops as a rowdy group of students got trashed.
Karly Anderson, 45, has been pulled from the classroom following an arrest for her alleged participation in a wild Jan. 19 house party at the Cocoa Beach home of Roosevelt Elementary School principal Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan, where around 200 underage kids got sloppily drunk, according to a Fox 35 Orlando report.
An allegedly intoxicated Anderson is seen cursing at and arguing with Cocoa Beach Police Department officers in front of the house, voluntarily telling them she was a teacher, and she was at the inappropriate party, the footage showed.
“You know I’m a teacher, who the f–k who got put in that car,” Anderson yelled at the cops, footage showed. “I was here hanging out at this party, I mean what the f–k? What’s wrong with them?” Anderson said in reference to a kid being loaded into an ambulance, according to Fox 35.
Brevard County Public Schools decided to yank the third-grade educator from the classroom on Tuesday — just one day after quietly transferring her to Saturn Elementary School, the outlet reported.
After seeing the footage, BCPS board member Matt Susis called her alleged actions “deplorable” and “disgusting.”
The school district claimed on Monday that Anderson was eligible to teach again because the felony child abuse charges were reduced by prosecutors to charges of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and disorderly intoxication, according to Fox News.
“The State Attorney cleared Karly Anderson of the felony charges. The Department of Children and Family Services cleared Ms. Anderson as well. She’s a certified teacher and as of today she’s been placed by the district back into the classroom,” a BCP spokesperson said in a statement to Fox35 Monday.
But that didn’t fly with parents at Saturn Elementary, who were outraged at the prospect of the accused youth-corrupter teaching their kids.
“It’s ridiculous. It is absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for,” Saturn Elementary Ashley Fernandez told the station.
“I was livid because, honestly, the woman still hasn’t even gone to court. This issue hasn’t been resolved at all and so, she has no place being inside of a school right now.”
Both Anderson and Hill-Brodigan, 47, are charged with child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor for the twisted soiree on Jan. 19, according to WJXT.
The young revelers at the house party were allegedly high on marijuana, visibly drunk and fistfighting at the principal’s house party on Jan. 19, police at the scene said, according to that report.
Cops found one kid on the front lawn suffering an alcohol-related health episode. Hill-Brodigan allegedly turned off all the lights in front of her house, causing officers to render aid by the light of their cruisers’ floodlamps, WJXT reported.
“The teacher’s actions as seen on the footage were completely unacceptable and do not match the charges given and warrant a further investigation,” Mark Rendell, superintendent of the BSPS told Fox News Digital.
