The medical group that employed the Illinois surgeon accused of gunning down his ex-wife and her prominent Ohio dentist husband is cooperating with police as the heinous double slaying is investigated.
Michael David McKee, a 39-year-old vascular surgeon, was employed by OSF Saint Anthony in Rockford, Illinois, when he allegedly trekked over 300 miles to Ohio, where he’s accused of killing Spencer and Monique Tepe in their home on Dec. 30, according to police and public records.
“OSF is cooperating with authorities who will provide further information,” a spokesperson for the faith-based Catholic practice said in a statement to The Post Tuesday night.
“All questions should be directed to law enforcement.”
The medical group did not confirm whether the suspected gunman was still employed — but no doctor profile for him appears on its website.
McKee, who attended medical school at Ohio State University, was arrested Saturday in Rockford on murder charges for fatally shooting Spencer and Monique, who he was married to from 2015 to 2017.
His short-lived two-year marriage to Monique, 39, ended in 2017 when she filed for divorce, but court records indicated the split was amicable.
She then married Spencer, her 37-year-old second husband, on Dec. 13, 2020, and they had two kids together, according to the slain couple’s obituary.
The two children – a 4-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son — were found unharmed inside the family’s upscale four-bedroom Columbus home when cops discovered the Tepes’ bodies.
The violent attack happened between 2 and 5 a.m. in the upstairs of the home, cops said.
No gun was discovered at the scene, and there was no sign of forced entry.
Eerie surveillance footage released by authorities showed a “person of interest” walking down an alley near the couple’s home around the time of the killings.
Authorities zeroed in on the alleged killer after tracking a vehicle that was in the vicinity at the time and later traveled 325 miles to Rockford and found the car.
McKee, who holds medical licenses in both Illinois and California, allegedly owns the car, cops said.
Police have yet to identify a motive for the grisly murders.
