Erika Kirk said those who celebrated her husband Charlie Kirk’s assassination are “sick,” blaming internet culture for the “dehumanized” reactions.

The grieving widow, sitting down with CBS News Editor-in-chief Bari Weiss at a town hall on Wednesday, was asked what she would say to people who attempted to “justify” or mocked her husband’s shooting death — which was filmed on phones from multiple angles and widely shared on social media.

“You’re sick. He’s a human being,” Kirk said.

“You think he deserved that? Tell that to my 3-year-old daughter,” she continued, her eyes welling up with tears.

“You wanna watch in high-res the video of my husband being murdered and laugh? And say he deserves it?” she asked. “There’s something very sick in your soul and I pray that God saves you.”

“That is what is so wrong. The internet and this world has dehumanized us,” she said.

Kirk, a conservative activist who focused on college students, was shot dead while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah State University in September.

His alleged assassin, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, is charged with his murder and is scheduled to make his first in-person appearance in court Thursday.

Kirk’s full town hall with Weiss airs on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
