A Las Vegas man wanted for the 2023 murder of his girlfriend was arrested in Mexico — where he has been accused of killing another woman.
Oswaldo Perez-Sanchez is accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend, Tabatha Tozzi, 26, after an argument in April 2023, and immediately fleeing, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said.
Authorities searched for Perez-Sanchez for two years, with the FBI joining the investigation after a year — only for authorities in Villa Fontana, Culiacán, to arrest him on April 7 in connection with the death of another woman, Vivian Karely.
Mexican authorities wrote in a Facebook post that the Unidad Especializada en Aprehensiones (Specialized Arrest Unit) arrested Perez-Sanchez in Ciudad Obregón on femicide and forced disappearance charges.
He remains in Mexico on the local charges, pending extradition to the US, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said.
Perez-Sanchez had reportedly been living under the alias “Jorge N” while hiding in the region, according to KTNV.
It was not immediately clear whether Perez-Sanchez had entered a plea.
Following his arrest, Regina Lacerda, the mother of his former girlfriend Tabatha Tozzi, expressed her relief over his arrest — and sympathy for his other alleged victim.
“I am happy and also very sad. I am happy because the killer of my daughter Tabatha got caught, a moment we had been waiting for almost 2 years! I knew in my heart this moment was arriving soon, and it finally did,” she said in a statement.
“But I am also very sad because he took the life of another young woman: Vivian Karely. Her name deserves to be honored and we will keep honoring her as well.”
She continued: “I am heartbroken that the mother will be going through what I’ve gone through these last two years. I don’t desire this on anyone! It is very painful to lose your daughter and especially through a horrible feminicide. No mother deserves this and I want the family to know that I am here to support them and will fight with them for justice.”
Tozzi’s family is set to celebrate her life in a memorial on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Craig Ranch Regional Park.
