They’re pouring over the evidence.

An unsettling mystery is soaking up attention in trendy Williamsburg after several pedestrians were doused with unknown fluids and pelted with eggs as they walked by a notorious building.

The splash-hole who is tossing liquids and other objects from the second-story of Edge Community Apartment on Kent Avenue has managed to elude identification, leaving locals to take up amateur sleuthing on neighborhood group chats — as they avoid the sidewalks below whenever possible.

“The building hasn’t done anything about it. They don’t care,” fumed Magdalena J., 31, who lives in the building.

“We don’t want to be hit with anything. It’s ridiculous — It’s getting worse and worse,” Magdalena told The Post.

One building resident, who declined to give her name, described the culprit as a “crazy,” pink-haired, older woman.

The amateur Sherlock Holmes believes the culprit’s motive is simple — she’s “angry,” she said.

The bizarre attacks first drew widespread attention when a December victim said she suffered chemical burns after she was splashed.

Another victim said they were hit by what smelled like “bleach mixed with chlorine,” while a couple of Williamsburg newcomers were welcomed with a “tsunami” of what they described as “used cooking oil.”

A 30-year-old man hit with an “unknown liquid” last week called 911 — but cops couldn’t figure out which apartment was responsible for the dumping.

Days later, a “bunch of eggs” were tossed out the window, narrowly missing those walking by.

There are numerous bleach splatter stains on the Kent Avenue sidewalk below.

When The Post tried to reach the suspected dumper Thursday, both a female and male voice could be heard from behind the door, though they declined to open it.

Clifton Management told The Post it was on the case, but could not divulge any details about their resident dumper.

“We are aware of the incident that took place and are cooperating fully with authorities to rectify the matter as quickly as possible. Given this is an active NYPD investigation, we are unable to provide further comment at this time,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

Many locals are avoiding the northeast side of the street between North 5th and 6th streets entirely, even if it means crossing the road twice to get to the corner grocery store.

“When we go to the supermarket, we go behind, we go around. We don’t wanna get hit,” tenant Maria Mccants, 56, said.

Brooklyn Harvest Market store manager Josue Cortorreal has even warned his cashiers to take alternate routes to work.

“Be aware walking over there because it might happen to you,” Cortorreal said he told his staff.

Neighbors in the surrounding apartment buildings have created new group chats and have been theorizing who is behind the attacks.

Issac, who lives around the corner, said he splashed months ago though he suspects it was only water from a water gun.

His wife, Rachel, said it was a “dangerous” situation and locals were at their “wits’ end about it.”

“The bleach is the worst,” Rachel said. “The cops won’t respond to it until something really bad happens.”
