A scooter-riding gunman shot and killed a man walking near his home in Brighton Beach, cops said.

The bullets flew at 2954 Brighton 12th Street around 10 p.m. Friday, leaving Elijah Scott, 45, with multiple gunshot wounds, police said. He was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn but couldn’t be saved.

The shooter fled on the black electric scooter he was riding. It wasn’t clear if he fired while riding or stopped, cops said. The killing was under investigation, police said.

Friends set up a memorial for Scott in the hours after his shooting.

“He had a great heart,” a man who identified himself as a friend of the victim said.

“He was somebody that cared for others,” the friend said. “If something bad was going on, he would get himself involved to stop it.”

Scott had five prior arrests on his rap sheet, with the most recent in 2023 for criminal possession of a weapon, police sources said.

The shooter was wearing a baseball cap, black jacket and gray hooded sweatshirt, police said.

Ballistics were recovered on the scene. Photos show at least a dozen evidence markers on the sidewalk. No further information was immediately available.
