A Brooklyn nurse was publicly identified Saturday as the victim struck and killed by an ambulance in Midwood, police said.

The ambulance, operated by Maimonides Medical Center, was making a left turn from Avenue O onto Ocean Avenue when it hit Cherry Cayetano Sobel, 44, on Thursday, cops said.

The driver didn’t stop.

Cayetano Sobel, who lived a mile and a half from where she was struck, was rushed to Maimonides but couldn’t be saved.

Detectives don’t believe the driver realized they hit someone.

The hospital suspended the ambulance crew pending the outcome of an investigation, according to a statement from officials.

“The Maimonides family is devastated by this tragic loss,” the statement reads.

“Our EMT staff who were involved in the incident have been suspended pending the outcome of the NYPD’s investigation. Our heart goes out to the victim’s family and friends.”

There were no immediate criminal charges.
