A Bronx woman accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend through the heart was “always trying to use” her good-natured beau, his grieving sister told The Post.

Michael Bookhart, 32, was always trying to tug a smile out of his friends before he was knifed in the chest Sunday during an argument with his girlfriend Jamaya Nelson, 23, inside of a Mott Haven apartment, his sister Melanie Bookhart said.

“My brother was a clown — he was always making jokes and making people laugh,” Melanie Bookhart said in a phone interview.

“He loved playing basketball and just being with his friends and family,” she told The Post. “Everyone who knew Mike knew what kind of person he was.”

But she had harsh words for his Nelson, who allegedly killed Michael Bookhart at an East 138th Street apartment building about 10:40 p.m.

“They were dating for seven months,” Melanie said. “She was a dirty little thing. She was always trying to use him.”

“All I know is they had an argument, and he wanted to leave and ended up being stabbed in the heart.”

Authorities rushed Michael to Lincoln Medical Center after the assault. But he didn’t make it.

Cops arrested Nelson and charged her with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and weapons possession, the criminal complaint said.

One neighbor lamented Michael’s death on Tuesday, saying, “That kid was amazing.”

“He always was polite,” the neighbor said. “He would say good morning and good night and never pass by you without saying something.

“It’s a tragedy he had to die so young.”
