A sicko tried to rape a woman in a terrifying attack inside a Lower East Side subway station early Monday morning – even flinging her phone off an escalator when she tried to dial 911, police said.

The victim, 30, was waiting for a northbound F train at the Rutgers Street and East Broadway station on the Lower East Side around 2:30 a.m. when the stranger approached her from behind and tried to strike up a conversation in Spanish, cops and sources said.

The victim wasn’t interested so she said she didn’t understand and tried to get away – making her way for the escalator, sources said.

But the predator followed the woman up the escalator before wrapping his arm around her and holding her while forcibly pulling her pants down and placing his fingers inside her private area, cops and sources said.

The heroic woman attempted to dial 911 on her cell phone, but the attacker grabbed the phone and tossed it over the side of the escalator, authorities said.

The brute is then captured on surveillance footage passing through the turnstile and leaving the station.

The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Her attacker is believed to be between 25 and 35 years old with light skin, standing about 5-foot-4 with a thin build and black hair.

He was last seen wearing a white hoodie, dark blue jeans and white sneakers.

Anyone with information on the disturbing attack is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/, or on X @NYPDTips.
