The 2025 Oscars are almost here, and cord-cutters have a new route to watching the glitzy Academy Awards ceremony live.

Live TV streaming services remain a way to stream the show as it unfolds, but for the first time, subscribers to regular Hulu (ads or no ads) will also be able to watch the Oscars live. The show, which comedian Conan O’Brien will host, will also air on ABC.

Ten films are up for best picture, including the musical film Wicked and the body horror flick The Substance. The other films vying for the top honor are The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Anora, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, Dune: Part Two and the most nominated contender, Emilia Pérez. If you missed any of those movies, here’s a guide to streaming nominees before the ceremony.

Performers at the Academy Awards include Doja Cat, Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Queen Latifah, Raye and the K-pop star (and White Lotus season 3 actor) Lisa. If you’re ready to celebrate the best films of 2024 at the Oscars, here’s exactly when and how to catch it live.

When to watch the 2025 Oscars

The 97th Academy Awards will air on ABC on Sunday, March 2, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. You can also stream the show live on Hulu.

According to the streaming service, all Hulu subscribers will be able to watch the ceremony in real-time. The Oscars will also stream on-demand the next day, Monday, March 3.

Another way to watch the 2025 Oscars without cable is via a live TV streamer with ABC. We’ll walk you through the top options below.

Hulu Plus Live TV is a live TV streaming service that allows you to watch ABC and the Oscars. It’s currently one of the two best live TV streamers CNET recommends for cord-cutters. With an $83 per month subscription, you get live channels and on-demand content from the ad-supported versions of Hulu, Disney Plus and ESPN Plus.

Sling/CNET

CNET also recommends Sling’s Blue plan for cord-cutters. Sling Blue may throw in ABC, but it depends on what city you’re in (you can check on this site). Sling Blue costs between $46 and $51 per month.
