President Trump’s 8-year-old grandson Theo played piano for his grandfather Monday night at the White House in a sweet performance filmed by his mother, Ivanka.
“Theo debuting his first original composition for Grandpa last night at The White House,” Ivanka wrote alongside a clip of the moment in a viral post she shared on X on Tuesday afternoon.
Trump’s daughter accompanied the post with a heart-faced emoji.
Fans were charmed by the intimate glimpse into Trump’s family.
“Theo’s grown so much since I last saw him,” an X user wrote. “And he’s got talent!”
Another person said, “What does he call it? It’s wonderful! Such a talented boy!”
A third X user wrote, “Such a heartwarming moment!
“Theo’s debut at The White House is pure magic – Grandpa must be so proud!”
The Steinway grand piano played by Theo was presented to FDR in 1938 by Theodore Steinway.
The piano features gold-leaf decoration representing “five musical forms indigenous of America,” according to the White House’s Office of the Curator.
The indigenous US music includes a New England barn dance, a guitar-strumming cowboy and a Native American ceremonial dance.
The grand piano’s three legs are carved into American eagles.
The piano stands in the entrance hall to the White House and is often played by members of the Marine Band during social functions.
The touching moment occurred a day after Ivanka shared a video of Theo playing catch with Saquon Barkley in the Rose Garden.
The Philadelphia Eagles star was at the White House as part of his team’s celebrations after their Super Bowl LIX victory.
“Celebrating with champions at the White House today!” Ivanka captioned her Instagram post of the encounter. “Congratulations to the [Eagles] on an amazing season and Super Bowl win!”
