White House reposts Tylenol’s own old tweet warning against pregnancy use

The Trump administration has gleefully seized on one of Tylenol’s old social media posts in which the drug company warned against taking its products while pregnant — prompting some to quickly boast “President Trump is right.”

The White House’s official X account on Wednesday reposted a tweet Tylenol had shared in 2017 that read: “We actually don’t recommend using any of our products while pregnant. Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns today.”

The Department of Health and Human Services quickly shared a screenshot of the company’s eight-year-old tweet, too — just days after Trump urged pregnant women to stop taking the over-the-counter pain reliever unless they have a high-risk fever.

Tylenol’s parent company, Kenvue, has since insisted the resurfaced post, which was made in response to a now-deleted tweet from a customer, was being “taken of out context.”

“We do not make recommendations on taking any medications in pregnancy because that is the job of a healthcare provider,” the company said in a statement as it sought to clarify the tweet.

“This eight-year-old consumer response is incomplete and did not address our full guidance on the safe use of Tylenol which has not changed: Acetaminophen is the safest pain reliever option for pregnant women as needed throughout their entire pregnancy.”

Still, the Trump admin’s dunk on the company sent MAGA supporters into a spin.

“Liberal women, please take as many Tylenols during pregnancy as possible. Prove Trump wrong, ok?” one person posted on X.

“All the pregnant libtard currently injecting Tylenol into their veins because they hate Trump might want to stop before they mess up their child for life. It’s been almost a DECADE since this warning was given by the company themselves. Why are people outraged?” another raged.

One user bluntly chimed in, “Would you look at that… Trump was right again.”

The reaction comes after Trump on Monday said studies have shown that taking the common painkiller could be associated with autism in children.

He urged pregnant women to only take Tylenol, a common form of acetaminophen, during a high-risk fever.

The recommendation is at odds with physician groups, who insist the painkiller — which has been on the market for 70 years — is safe.

More than 50% of women report taking the drug during pregnancy because it has long been regarded as the safest over-the-counter med.

But the Trump administration pointed to a growing body of research that suggests a connection between autism in children and the use of acetaminophen during pregnancy.

The Food and Drug Administration will be updating the label on acetaminophen to relay the risk in pregnancy and will be sending out a letter to all doctors with the warning off the back of Trump’s announcement.
