A brazen would-be kidnapper briefly scooped up a 6-year-old boy from a busy Coney Island sidewalk Sunday night — only to let him loose once the screaming child’s parents were hot on his tail, according to cops and wild video.

The 36-year-old creep — seen wearing all black, including a bizarrely tall black hat — grabbed the boy just before 10 p.m. near the corner of Stillwell and Surf avenues, police said.

The sicko pounced on the child as he started trailing behind his parents, according to witness Nora Smiles, known as “The Sneaker Lady,” whose shop is right next to the scene.

“So a man came and he was trying to cut him off, then the little boy was trying to spin off of him,” Smiles told Freedomnews TV.

“The man just grabbed him up and started running with the little boy,” she said.

The boy screamed and called out for his mom as the fiend scooped him up in one arm — prompting both parents to immediately spring into action, video obtained by Freedomnews shows.

Once the menace spotted the two adults lunging toward him, he threw the boy to the ground and high-stepped out of there, the clip shows.

But the suspect didn’t make it far, with both parents chasing him into the street as multiple cars passed through the intersection, according to the video.

“The parents just chased after the guy and they caught him,” Smiles said.

Police assigned to a nearby post chased the creep down and arrested him, sources said. Charges were pending as of Monday morning.

“It was just shocking,” Smiles said. “I’m a mother myself so I ran over — we all ran over to see what happened.”

The boy — whose family is from Queens — complained of minor pain and was taken to Coney Island Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
