Apple Price Increase: How Much Every iPad, Mac and Home Device Costs Now

It’s a bad day for folks looking to upgrade their Apple devices anytime soon. The $4 trillion tech company announced on Thursday that it’s raising prices on a wide array of products, from iPads to Macs and home devices. The whopping price increases range from 18% to nearly 33%, and refurbished devices also got price hikes.

One of the bigger sticker shocks is with the MacBook Neo. Released earlier this year, Apple touted the new laptop as its budget-friendly Chromebook competitor, perfect for students. Now, you’ll have to shell out $699, a $100 increase from its initial $599.

Outgoing CEO Tim Cook hinted earlier this month that price hikes were in the works, calling them “unavoidable.” He pointed to the boom in artificial intelligence and its corresponding compute requirements.

Supply chain shortages have been caused by record-high demand for memory and storage chips in big AI data centers. That’s led several big tech companies to raise their prices, from Microsoft to Samsung.

Despite not being one of the biggest developers of AI software — like OpenAI, Anthropic or Google — Apple isn’t immune to rising production costs. The iPhone-maker struck a deal in May with Intel to produce some of its chips. But production challenges didn’t stop Apple from reporting a 17% spike in revenue in its most recent earnings call.

We’re tracking all the biggest Apple sales for Amazon Prime Day, which may temporarily ease the pain of these price hikes. Here’s a full breakdown of the Apple iPads, Macs and home devices that are getting higher price tags.
