A married judge who had sex noisy with a top cop in her court chambers has been named as a Barack Obama appointee who meted out a tough sentence to reality star Todd Chrisley.
Judge Eleanor Ross, of the Atlanta-based US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, was handed a private dressing-down after the alleged steamy affair with a police commander within earshot of law clerks, reported Bloomberg.
The 58-year-old, who was nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the Senate in 2014, wasn’t named in the special judicial conduct committee’s report.
The judge had sex in “chambers and during business hours,” demonstrating “a gross lack of judgement,” over the course of the two-year relationship between 2023 and 2025, according to the report.
The affair resulted in a “chambers workplace that was extremely uncomfortable and troubling for clerks,” according to the report.
Her relationship with an unidentified police department commander also created a “conflict-of-interest risk,” the report said.
Judge Ross previously served as a state court judge, a federal prosecutor in the district, and a prosecutor in the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.
She also presided over the 2022 trial of reality TV star Todd Chrisley, who was found guilty of federal charges including bank fraud, tax evasion, and wire fraud.
Ross sentenced him to 12 years in federal prison, but President Trump later pardoned him.
Chrisley took to social media on Wednesday to name Ross.
“This corrupt judge who couldn’t focus on our case because she was too busy clapping dem cheeks in her chambers … she needs to be impeached and we will work with Congress and our legal team to see that this happens,” Chrisley wrote on Instagram.
