Two attorneys were blasted by gunfire outside a North Carolina courthouse Friday morning.
Mary Harris and Jeffrey Whitley of the national law firm, Fox Rothschild, were shot by Raleigh resident Gwendolyn White, 57, outside the old Wake County Courthouse after she “became belligerent in court,” according to WRAL News and Raleigh Chief of Police Rico Boyce.
The legal pair were representing the Rolesville Police Department in a court case over police-worn body camera video, court records show.
White left the courthouse, allegedly grabbed the gun from her car and opened fire on the attorneys as they left the building.
Court filings indicate that the contents of the video were linked to White’s mother’s death last year, according to court filings.
Harris’ father confirmed she underwent surgery and is currently in stable condition. Whitley’s condition remains unclear.
White was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
