Apple TV holds the distinction of being one of the only streaming services to offer only original content on its platform: You won’t find a rotating library of blockbusters and classic sitcoms there. Instead, you’ll get a tightly curated collection of interesting content for kids and adults alike. That includes shows such as Ted Lasso, The Morning Show and Shrinking, and movies like F1: The Movie — all produced by and for Apple.
Because Apple’s collection of content is thoughtfully programmed, it doesn’t release as many titles each month as some of the company’s competitors, but what it does put out always piques our interest. This May, we can’t wait to watch the Tatiana Maslany series Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. Billed as a darkly comedic thriller, we’re hoping it reminds us of her incredible work on Orphan Black.
There’s also Star City, a new series from the creators of For All Mankind, and Propeller One-Way Night Coach, a family adventure film written and directed by John Travolta. Plus, you can catch live F1 races this season and every MLS game on Apple TV now that MLS Season Pass is part of Apple’s subscription package. Soccer season is in full swing, with games streaming every week.

Here’s a look at what’s new on Apple TV this month.
New shows on Apple TV in May
Unconditional is a new Israeli thriller about a mother-daughter vacation that goes awry when 23-year-old Gali (Talia Lynne Ronn) is arrested for drug smuggling in Russia. Her mother, Orna (Liraz Chamami), refuses to accept the charges — but as she tries to clear her daughter’s name, she’s pulled into a web of crime and corruption. The eight-episode series premieres with the first two episodes on Friday, May 8, followed by a new episode every Friday through June 19.
Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed (May 20)
If you ever watched Orphan Black, you’ll know there’s almost nothing Tatiana Maslany can’t do as an actor. Maslany performed 17 different roles on the show, all clones of each other, all with completely distinct personalities. All of this is to say that we’ve been waiting for Maslany to star in a new show that would give her something equally juicy and fun to do, and the new comedic thriller Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed looks like it could be the thing.
In the new series, Maslany stars as a newly divorced mom who believes she’s witnessed a crime and gets sucked into a dangerous investigation. While navigating her own personal life, she finds herself unraveling a much deeper conspiracy than she thought. The series co-stars Jase Johnson, Jessy Hodges and Murray Bartlett, and it arrives to Apple TV on May 20.
If you’re a fan of For All Mankind, you’re going to be all in on the new series Star City that comes from the same creators, Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert and Ronald D. Moore. The new series offers another perspective on that key moment in the For All Mankind alternate history of the space race when the Soviet Union became the first nation to put a man on the moon. This time, though, the story is told from the point of view of the Soviets, showing the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers and the intelligence officers in the Soviet space program. The show stars Rhys Ifans, Anna Maxwell Martin, Agnes O’Casey and Alice Englert, and it premieres with two episodes on May 29.
New Movies on Apple TV in May
Propeller One-Way Night Coach (May 29)
Back in 1997, aviation enthusiast John Travolta wrote a children’s book, Propeller One-Way Night Coach, about a young boy’s cross-country airplane journey at the dawn of commercial airline travel. And now 30 later, he’s adapted the story for the screen and is making his directorial debut with the film. The Apple Original movies co-stars Clark Shotwell, Kelly Eviston-Quinnett, Ella Bleu Travolta and Olga Hoffmann. It premieres on the platform on May 29.
