SoCal blasted by powerful heat wave as triple-digit figures hit

Sweltering heat in excess of 100 degrees is set to smash Southern California this week.

The National Weather Service issued an urgent Heat Advisory for parts of Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties from Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday at 8:00 p.m.

The mountains and interior valleys in San Luis Obispo are expected to see the warmest temperatures with heat up to 103 degrees expected.

Residents are advised to stay out the sun, wear light-colored clothing and drink plenty of water.
